Langahead School of Language
Yes, an exciting new school on the block! So what is different about us?
Aside from the excellence of our teaching, you also can enjoy:
- the colourful life of Melville, which is well known and popular,
-
the benefit of well-serviced taxi and bus routes,
-
the wonderful experience of vibey Melville with many social spots, funky little shops and excellent restaurants.
Before or after classes, you can try Dancing lessons, you can keep fit at health clubs and try out your Karate skills!
It is also close to a sizable shopping mall with a useful variety of shops.
The Principal
My name is Sandy Emslie. I have taught for many years in both schools and tertiary
Institutions, have also studied overseas and taught in the UK for a number of years.
I have a very sound knowledge of the local education system, an international perspective on Education, and my interest in Linguistics, and the challenges of teaching Multilingual classes have developed over the years of working with such students. As a result, I developed a number of programmes in a Teaching Training College (Pre-service and In-service teachers) to enable students whose main language is not English to become confident, fluent users of the language.
South Africa is a leader in the field of multilingual classes and courses and is respected as such. And while educational terminology or vocabulary is sometimes different, the best educational principles are international. Let us not underestimate the power of language. That English has become a Global Language, we have to accept. This school will strive at all times to provide students with the access that the effective learning of English will give them to whatever career options they face.
This school is learner-centred, market related and educationally sound.
Learning is for life, learning is exciting and learning should always be challenging. I guess that's why I still love it.
